How does VASER Shape MC1 work?

The VASER Shape MC1 uses dual head ultrasound to target the unwanted fat directly underneath the skin. The ultrasound waves produce a “cavitational effect” over the tissue to promote fat loss. This means that the variable pressure of the ultrasound energy produces expanding microbubbles that disrupt the fat cells. It only attacks the unwanted fat deposits, leaving the important adjacent structures such as skin, blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue intact. Click here for more information.

How does the body get rid of the fat after a VASER Shape MC1 treatment?

VASER Shape MC1’s unique ultrasound treatment breaks the membranes of the fat cells and the fat cells burst. The content of the fat cells is then transported through the vascular and lymphatic system to the liver. The liver then processes this fat naturally to eliminate it from the body. This elimination is assisted by the lymphatic drainage hand piece of the VASER Shape MC1. Lymphatic drainage is an integral part of the process, and helps to maintain the changes you can see immediately.

What makes the VASER Shape MC1 treatment so unique?

VASER Shape MC1 is noninvasive and feels like a hot stone massage. It reduces the size of the treated areas without anesthesia or surgery. It is safe because the surrounding blood vessels, nerves and connective tissues are not damaged. The treatment has no unpleasant side effects or after effects. Who can undergo this method?

Mostly any person who is interested in reducing unwanted fat. To insure that you are a suitable candidate, a consultation is required. At Medical Aesthetics of New England, PC, we don’t charge for consultations. VASER Shape MC1 was developed to help men and women who have a desire to reduce body fat. The treatment is not a substitute for regular exercise and healthy eating, nor for more dramatic surgical procedures. Medical Aesthetics of New England, PC has other programs to help, including our new HCG diet, where most people lose ½ to 1 pound per day.

Does the VASER Shape MC1 treatment hurt?

The treatment can be performed on most areas of the body. The most popular areas are:

How long is a treatment and how often should they be repeated?

One session takes less than 1 hour. The treatments are done approximately once a week for each treatment area. A series of 4 treatments is usually recommended depending on the size of the treated area.

What kind of care is required after the treatment?

There is no downtime. After the treatment, one can immediately return to his/her daily routine. You should not have any pain or discomfort after the treatment. It is important to maintain adequate hydration before and after the treatments. We suggest drinking a liter of water before, and a liter afterward. This helps the lymphatic drainage.

What is the advantage of the VASER Shape MC1 over diet and exercise alone?

The approach is different. With a diet and exercise, you can reduce non-specific weight, which is often appropriate. There are problem areas however that often don’t respond to diet and exercise alone. Even a thousand sit-ups each day won’t target belly fat. Therefore, VASER Shape MC1 is the solution. It selectively removes stubborn fat deposits, thus, giving you a better body contour.

What should I expect during a VASER Shape MC1 treatment and what does it feel like?

We will first assess your body to discuss the treatment with you to make sure you are a good candidate for VASER Shape MC1. Your treatment will start with us opening up the lymphatic channels, which will aid in excretion of the fat after the treatment. We will then treat the desired area with the dual-head ultrasound hand piece, and you will feel a warming of the skin in the area being treated, much like a hot stone massage. We will monitor your skin throughout the treatment, checking for mild redness and to monitor the skin temperature. Once the skin has reached the desired endpoints, we will then treat the same area with the lymphatic hand piece. This facilitates lymphatic drainage of the fat tissue.

Are the results permanent after the VASER Shape MC1 treatment?

The fat cells that are treated with VASER Shape MC1 are thought to be completely destroyed (permanent). The reduction in fat should be long lasting, as long as one maintains a healthy diet and lifestyle, and does not gain any significant weight. In Europe, changes have been shown to last 1 ½ years, since the original development of the MC1.
